Audio recording computers, which computer is best?
The Mac? The PC?
The debate goes on but not here!
To make music on computer, both have their advantages and disadvantages so it really comes down to the software you want to use and how much money you have to spend.
The PC cost less then a Mac and if you already have a PC then you don't need to rush out and buy a Mac.
You will need to decide what software you plan on using. Some software will only work on a PC. Some software will only work on a Mac.
These are Mac Only DAW Software:
Digital Performer GarageBand Logic Pro Soundtrack Pro
These are PC only DAW Software:
Adobe Audition Cakewalk Sonar FL Studio Orion Samplitude Sony Acid Zynewave Podium
These will work on Both PC and Mac:
Ableton Live Cubase Nuendo Pro Tools Reaper Reason Propellerheads Record Renoise Tracktion
When you have decided which DAW you are going to use you will be able to decide if you need a PC or a Mac.
After deciding on the DAW you will use look at the minimum requirements for the DAW. But try to get a system the has a lot more than the minimum.
The other question you need to ask is should I get a desk top PC or a notebook?
A desk top pc will cost more but is easy to upgrade and work on.
A notebook will be more portable and quiet.
So it depends on your budget and if you need it to be portable.
